Excavated as part of the Upper Grijalva River Basin regional project, La Libertad was a key civic-ceremonial center of the Middle Formative era. This work presents the analysis of lithic artifacts with the goals of identifying manufacturing sequences and tool function(s), as well as highlighting the effectiveness of lithic analysis in determining the socioeconomic role of the La Libertad community in the Upper Grijalva Basin.
