A Sacrificial Mass Burial at Miramar, Chiapas, Mexico

A preliminary survey and test-pitting project at the site of Miramar unexpectedly revealed a sacrificial mass burial of some twenty-four individuals. The relevance of this find at Miramar to the nearby center of Mirador highlights the broader context of western Chiapas during the Classic period and the role of Teotihuacan influence.
